Ground Burial Arrangement

When considering afterlife arrangements, ground burial remains one of the more traditional options. At Direct, we guide you through the process with care and clarity, helping you make informed decisions while supporting you and your loved one through every step of the burial journey.

Ground Burial

Due to Singapore’s limited land space, Choa Chu Kang Cemetery Complex is the only cemetery still open for ground burials.

The following documents are required during the application for ground burials:

  • Digital death certificate
  • Permit to Bury
  • Identity papers of next-of-kin and applicant (e.g. NRIC, passport, etc.)

It’s important to note that the burial period for all graves is limited to 15 years. After which, the grave will be exhumed. For those whose religions permit cremation, the exhumed remains will be cremated and stored in a government-managed or private columbarium. However, where burial is mandated by religion, the exhumed remains will be re-buried in smaller individual burial grounds. For more information about our exhumation services, please click here.

If you wish to opt for ground burial, you may want to consider the Batesville Classic Gold casket. Imported from the U.S., Batesville Classic Gold is made of air-tight material and 24K gold plated bronze instead of conventional wood. This aids in slowing down the decomposition process for better preservation of remains. Its interior is fully lined with velvet and features a MemorySafe drawer that allows you to secure private mementos and farewell messages.
